Microsoft MCSE 2008 Home-Based Training Courses

Always expect authorised exam simulation and preparation programs as part of your course package. Don't go for training programs relying on unauthorised exam preparation questions. The way they're phrased is often somewhat different - and sometimes this can be a real headache once in the actual exam. For many reasons, it's very crucial to be confident that you are completely prepared for the real exam prior to going for it. Revising mock-up exams logs the information in your brain and helps to avoid wasted exam attempts.

There are not very many 'Windows' 'NT' Servers still to be found, although server '2000' are still quite common. The most prolific is server '2003', with server 2008 still in it's early-days. Since this is the case in the commercial world, the majority of Microsoft's certifications remain centred around the '2003' Operating System. Microsoft's qualifications MCSA & MCSE have supported the different Server evolutions over time. In accordance with the marketplace, the 2003 versions of these networking certifications remain the most commonly requested. It really should however be remembered that upgrade training to server 2008 is coming, & desirable wherever possible.

A service that many training companies provide is a Job Placement Assistance program. It's intention is to help you get your first commercial position. Don't get caught up in this feature - it isn't unusual for training companies to overstate it's need. In reality, the still growing need for IT personnel in Britain is the reason you'll find a job.

Update your CV at the beginning of your training though (advice can be sought on this via your provider). Don't wait until you've graduated or passed any exams. Having the possibility of an interview is better than being rejected. Often junior support jobs are bagged by students (who've only just left first base.) You can usually expect quicker service from an independent and specialised local recruitment consultancy than you'll experience from any training provider's national service, because they'll know local industry and the area better.

Certainly ensure you don't spend hundreds of hours on your training and studies, just to give up and expect somebody else to land you a job. Stop procrastinating and make your own enquiries. Channel the same resource into securing your first job as it took to pass the exams.
